The Story Behind the 'Summer in Paris Necklace'

Alright friends, you are in for a treat!

We just launched the Summer in Paris Necklace. I was going to hold off on launching this one, but we recently launched two other gemstone necklaces, and they both sold out, so instead of waiting a couple more months to show you this one, I figured, let’s go ahead and launch it because I’m inpatient, and excited to share this with you.

The colors are so beautiful, and remind me of all of the colors in France. They remind me of the markets, and all the cool curiosities in the markets: the food, the beautiful pastries in the windows, the fashion, the flower gardens, and the paintings in the museums … everything. All of these gemstones take me down memory lane.

As some of you know, my grandmother is French, and my mom was a French teacher for 27 years. Every single summer, since she had her summers off, we would go to France and visit my grandmother. My aunt, uncle, and cousins also lived there. Right in the south of France, in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, right on the border between France and Spain.

It was just so beautiful, but it was also very rustic so we would milk cows every morning for milk, we’d go to a little farm to get eggs from the chickens for our omelets, and we would play in the jere, which is the mountain stream from the Pyrenees Mountains … I mean it sounds so amazing, and it really was, but it was rustic. No internet, no cable, no TV, and we would spend the entire summer playing outside.

Most of the time we would fly into Paris, and then we would take lots of day trips throughout the summer. Sometimes we’d go over to Spain, or we’d go to other little towns to see the markets, and I think that’s how my love of jewelry, and travel, and finding a little bit of the unexpected from places started. When I bring you jewelry, so many times it sparks different memories, and this one, without a doubt, reminded me of France.

In stories yesterday, I was wearing a white eyelet blouse, denim jeans, and a pair of nude flip-flops. The Summer in Paris Necklace added the perfect pop of color to my outfit, and went really well with the Hammered Hoops, and our Mixed Metal Wire Bracelets. I also think this necklace would look amazing with our Coffee Run Hoops, and our Kiawah Bracelet Stack!!
