These fans are called Bolga Fans and are made in Bolgatanga, a small town in the northern region of Ghana. The fans are purely hand woven and made from straw called “Elephant Grass”. with the designs taking inspiration from the fans once made for Ghanaian royalty. Inspired by the regal fans once used by Ghanaian queens, these striking pieces unite West African heritage with modern design.
