NYC Hotel Recommendations

Another thing I enjoy doing while I'm in NY is to get coffee or a cocktail at a cool hotel. I love researching fun hotels and NYC has some great ones. These are a few of my favorites and are great to meet friends (or just take yourself) for a drink!

Crosby Street Hotel: my favorite location and Kit Kemp is the designer. Love the bright and funky aesthetic. It's in the heart of Soho and perfect if you need a quick break from walking and shopping. Great people watching too. Bryan and I were in the same elevator as Busy Philips last time we were here. She was with her family...I didn't say anything. Bryan was relieved.

Whitby Hotel: located in Upper Midtown- Closer to Central Park. Kit Kemp is also the designer here and I love the decor. I can't wait to take my girls to this hotel for Afternoon Tea. Lots of shopping all around this area and a few blocks from Rockefeller center.

The One Hotel: There is a One Hotel by Central Park and another in Brooklyn, both very cool. Sustainable hotels with chic and rustic vibes centered around nature. Earthy decor with reclaimed materials. Great place to stop if you are exploring Brooklyn or hanging out in Central Park.

The Carlyle: located on Upper East side. The Bar inside the Carlyle is named Bemelmans. Story goes….Ludwig Bemelman (he illustrated all the Madeline children’s' books) drew murals on the walls in exchange for a free stay at the hotel. This is a classic-old world-legendary place. The place to go if you like a martini.

Other cool hotel bars/restaurants:

The Beekman

Whythe Hotel (Brooklyn)

St Regis Hotel

Oh! I almost forgot about The Monkey Bar at the Hotel Elysee. My mom and dad love this place! We went here the night before Bryan and I ran the NYC Marathon. Ed Sorel painted the walls here and the menus. I've had some really great memories here with my family and my mom framed one of the menus for me for Christmas. It's hanging on our house and makes me smile every time I look at it.

If I'm not in NY for work, I love hanging out in the Meatpacking district. Great vibe with cool restaurants, shopping, and on a beautiful day…checkout the High Line. The Gansevoort Hotel is smack-dab in the center of everything. Remind me to give you an itinerary you go (or maybe I'll just write it in the book 😉

Adventure Awaits in NYC!

xoxo, Erin
