Exclusive - Five Boroughs Necklace
New York City has always held a very special place in my heart. While at the University of Virginia, I took jewelry design classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and from there, my passion for jewelry making grew. I continue to visit the city every month for buying trips and to gather inspiration.
One of the best moments of my life was crossing the finish line of the NYC marathon in 2015 with my husband, Bryan. At the time, I was pregnant with our (now 8 month daughter), Georgia. I had absolutely no idea I was pregnant during the run & was shocked to find out that she was along for the run, too! It has been a goal of mine to run another NYC race and I am excited to reach that goal this upcoming weekend by running in The NYC Five Borough City Half-Marathon.
I created a necklace that represents the five boroughs of NYC - each organic wood shape on the bottom of the necklace stands for a NYC Borough: Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
I am honored to be running for Team Free Arts and 100% of the proceeds of this necklace will be going to this non-profit and will benefit youth in NYC giving them access to the arts. Free Arts NYC empowers underserved youth through art and mentoring programs to develop their creativity, confidence and skills to succeed.
